Week 2 finished up last Thursday and the teams have entered the first break of the season. The next games on the schedule will take place next Wednesday, December 4th. Nine of the eleven schools will play back-to-back games upon their return from the Thanksgiving holiday, with games also on December 5th.
Three schools remain unbeaten in 7th and 8th grade. Hendricks (3-0, 3-0), North Forsyth (3-0, 3-0), and South Forsyth (3-0, 3-0) each picked up two more wins on the third gameday of the year. Lakeside's 7th (1-1) and 8th (1-1) grade teams and Piney Grove's 8th (1-1) grade team got their first wins.
For the third consecutive time, there were four sweeps of 7th and 8th grade games. The previously mentioned undefeated teams pulled off the feat once again, and they were joined by Lakeside this time. The only split was between Piney Grove (0-2, 1-1) and Riverwatch (3-0, 1-2). The Panthers maintained pace with the other unbeaten teams in 7th grade picking up a big win, while the Grizzlies were victorious in the 8th grade game to even their record after two games.
Hendricks (7th grade) and South Forsyth (8th grade) kept their lead in scoring margins, with an average differential of 33.3 points (49.3-16.0) and 24.3 (46.7-22.3), respectively.
North Forsyth is leading both 7th (52.7) and 8th (54.0) grade in points per game. Four teams are currently averaging over 50 points (7th-NFMS and SFMS, 8th-NFMS and PGMS). Hendricks has given up the fewest points in 7th grade with their opponents scoring just 16.0 points per game. South Forsyth is giving up 22.3 points per game to lead the 8th grade in the fewest points allowed.
Four teams (HMS, NFMS, RMS, and SFMS) sit atop of the standings in 7th grade with 3-0 records. NFMS has their bye date on 12/4, but then there will be a big showdown on 12/5 between NFMS and SFMS. Just five teams have a positive scoring differential through the first three gamedays.
Three teams (HMS, NFMS, and SFMS) are undefeated through three games in 8th grade. SFMS hosts DMS on 12/4 and then SFMS travels to NFMS on 12/5 in top 4 matchups next week. Almost half of the league (5 out of 11 teams) have scoring differentials at 10.0 points or less.
