Week 3 of the 2024-25 regular season concluded last week, and it already marks the halfway point for a handful of teams (six to be exact). Games were held on back-to-back days for the first time this year. North Forsyth (1-3, 3-1) & Liberty (1-3, 3-1) had their bye dates mixed in last week, so their two teams competed in just one game. Lakeside (3-1, 4-0 and Riverwatch (3-2, 3-2) each swept all four of their games in commanding fashion by double digits.
Hendricks (5-0, 2-3) and South Forsyth (5-0, 3-2) are dominating their competition in 7th grade. Both teams won each of their games last week by a whopping 208-66 combined score! That is an average score of 52.0-16.5. The aforementioned Lakeside and Riverwatch have three game winning streaks and sit just 1.5 and 2 games back in the standings, respectively.
Lakeside is obliterating teams in 8th grade. They won their two games last week by over 100 points (109 to be exact)! Piney Grove (0-4, 4-0) is rolling as well with three of their four wins being by double digits. The Grizzlies sit atop the standings with the Lions at 4-0. The two squads are the only ones remaining without a loss through three weeks. Liberty and North Forsyth are only one game back in the standings with 3-1 records.
After three weeks of action, South Forsyth leads the 7th grade in scoring margin, currently winning by an average score of 53.0-13.8 (39.2 margin). Not to be outdone, Lakeside is winning by 40.0 points per game (55.8-15.8) in 8th grade.
Both teams also lead their respective leagues in scoring. The Eagles have scored 53.0 PPG, while the Lions are at 55.8 PPG. The closest chasers are Hendricks (46.4-7th grade) and Liberty (45.8-8th grade).
In a clean sweep, South Forsyth and Lakeside have the stingiest defenses as well. SFMS (7th) is only giving up 13.8 PPG, while Lakeside (8th) has allowed just 15.8 PPG. Hendricks is the closest pursuer, with 16.6 PPG allowed in 7th grade. Piney Grove sits in second place in opponents' PPG at 21.5 in 8th grade.
Two teams (HMS and SFMS) have started to separate themselves from the pack in 7th grade with 5-0 records. The standings are bunched up in the middle of the pack. Riverwatch looks to continue their climb up the standings at North Forsyth on Tuesday, trying to extend their winning streak to four games.
Two undefeated teams (LSMS and PGMS) remain in 8th grade. Outside of the top two, North Forsyth and Riverwatch have the longest winning streaks right now. Just the opposite of 7th grade, NFMS will attempt to run their win streak to four games tomorrow night. RMS would have a three game streak with a win.
