Students have just returned to school but the football teams have been hard at work preparing for the 2024 football season. One major change has taken place this season as Gainesville will not be competing against the Forsyth County schools, which leaves just five teams in the East Division.
The 2024 season begins on Tuesday, August 13th and culminates on Wednesday, October 23rd with the FCMS Championship Game. Each school will play seven regular season games over the course of eight weeks. The East Division schools will compete in four Divisional games, and the West Division plays in five Divisional contests.
Each team receives one bye week. For weeks 1-6 & 8, just one team is scheduled to be off. Week 7 sees four teams with a bye week. Fall break is between weeks 6 & 7 (September 23rd-27th). No regular season games will take place that week.
This year's semifinals will be held on Tuesday, October 15th and the season will conclude the following week on Wednesday, October 23rd with the FCMS Championship Game at Lambert High School.
