It is tough to determine how the season will go based on one week of action, but if Week 1 taught us anything, it is that the playoff teams (that played) from last year look like they will be in the thick of things again this year.
Two of last year's playoff combatants, Lakeside (1-0) and North Forsyth (0-1), faced off and the game came right down to the wire with Lakeside prevailing 20-16 in the week's most competitive game.
South Forsyth (1-0) took command of their game with Vickery Creek (0-1) early on and cruised to the largest margin of victory on the week 48-15. The Eagles 48 points also was the most points scored in Week 1.
The other playoff contender from last year, Liberty (0-0), had their bye in Week 1 as they prepared for their Week 2 battle with Hendricks.
The other three games in Week 1 were all decided by at least three touchdowns with DeSana (1-0), Hendricks (1-0), and Little Mill (1-0) getting their seasons off to good starts with victories.
