Week 2 is in the books and after just ten games, there are only three teams left with no losses. Lakeside (East) and Little Mill (West) are the lone teams with 2-0 records. Both find themselves leading their respective divisions. The other team without a loss is Liberty (1-0), who played their first game in Week 2.
The de facto Game of the Week between Lakeside (2-0) and South Forsyth (1-1) did not disappoint. Just like in Week 1, Lakeside jumped out to a sizeable lead at halftime, then had to hold on in the end winning 36-31.
After struggling last year, Little Mill (2-0) has picked up two big wins to start the year. The Mustangs have outscored their first two opponents 72-8 (34-8 and 38-0).
Liberty kicked off their 2024 season with an impressive win over Hendricks (1-1), 23-0. The Patriots face off in another West Division contest next week versus North Forsyth (1-1) who picked up their first win of the season 58-6 over Otwell (0-2). The 58 points was the most scored so far this season.
Piney Grove (1-1) picked up their first win as well, defeating DeSana (1-1), 20-0. After no shutouts in Week 1, in the second week there were three of them.
