With the Week 4 games tomorrow, we will pass the halfway point in the regular season. This week's matchups mark another round of divisional games. It is the 3rd week in a row with such games. Little Mill (3-0) and Lakeside (2-0) are the two remaining unbeatens and they will be facing division rivals (Hendricks and Piney Grove) who are hoping to keep their playoff hopes alive.
Headlining this week's schedule is unbeaten Little Mill hosting one loss Hendricks at East Forsyth HS. Little Mill begins a stretch of playing the other top three teams in the West Division over the next four weeks of the schedule. With a win, the Mustangs will maintain their spot atop the West Division standings and it will set up a huge showdown with North Forsyth next week (especially if the Wildcats post a win over Vickery Creek). Hendricks lost their first division game of the season in Week 2 to Liberty, so the Hawks' playoff lives may be at stake in this game.
In the East Division, this week will either provide some clarity as to who the top teams are or it will muddy the waters even more. Lakeside and Riverwatch are aiming to stay unbeaten in the division, which would provide some breathing room for each in the standings. Meanwhile, Piney Grove and South Forsyth are trying to avoid their second losses in the division, which could be detrimental to their playoff chances.
North Forsyth is looking to run their win streak to three games as they travel to West Forsyth HS to take on Vickery Creek. If the Wildcats get the win, they can take over first place in the West Division (combined with a Little Mill loss). Little Mill and North Forsyth will remain tied if both teams come out victorious. Vickery Creek will look to pull the upset and earn their first win of the season.
Liberty returns to action, hosting Otwell, after dropping a tough game to division rival North Forsyth last week. Otwell, like Vickery Creek, is trying to pick up their first victory in 2024.
Once again, each game this week will take place at a high school stadium. East Forsyth HS (Little Mill) will host its first game of the year. Each HS football field is documented on the map under the "Athletics" tab at the top of the page if you are looking to attend a game and need directions. Kick offs are scheduled for 6:30 PM.
The weather looks great again this week. As of Monday night, the temperatures tomorrow will be in the upper 70s around 6:30 PM and will fall into the low 70s as the games wrap up. There is a 0% chance of rain, low humidity, and an east wind which should all equate to a beautiful evening for playing (and watching) football.
