With three weeks left in the regular season and just one more divisional game remaining in Week 8, three of the four playoff spots have been determined. The East Division is set with Lakeside (4-0) as the #1 seed and South Forsyth (3-1) the #2 seed. In the West Division, North Forsyth (4-1) will be the #1 seed. The #2 seed is going to be up for grabs in Week 8 when Liberty (3-1) and Little Mill (4-1) face off.
Lakeside clinched the #1 seed in the East with a win over division foe DeSana (1-3), 53-8. The 53 points was the second most points scored in a game this year (North Forsyth scored 58 in Week 2). The Lions remain the only undefeated team in the league after five weeks.
North Forsyth garnered the top spot in the West after a big win over Little Mill, 35-7. The teams entered the week tied at the top of the standings. After dropping their Week 1 non-divisional game versus Lakeside, the Wildcats have rattled off four straight division wins by an average score of 45-10.
Liberty stayed alive in the playoff race after defeating Vickery Creek (0-5), 27-16. The win moves the Patriots into a second place tie with Little Mill at 3-1 in the West Division. The two teams now have to wait four weeks before they get the chance to decide the final playoff spot on October 8th.
In other action, Hendricks (3-2) defeated Otwell (0-5), 30-0 to win their third game of the season. The Hawks will finish in 4th place in the West Division. Piney Grove (2-3) and Riverwatch (1-3) got into a defensive battle in their East Division matchup. Piney Grove came out on top 14-12 in what has been the closest contest this year. The Grizzlies wrapped up 3rd place in the East.
