Just three more weeks remain in the regular season as we hit Week 6. After four straight weeks of divisional action, the teams return to non-divisional games. Three teams (Lakeside, North Forsyth, and South Forsyth) will be fine tuning their games in preparation for the playoffs. Liberty and Little Mill will be doing the same, but will also be preparing to play each other in a few weeks. The other teams will be playing for pride and trying to pull an upset over one of the remaining teams in playoff contention.
After Week 5, Lakeside (#1 in the East), North Forsyth (#1 in the West), and South Forsyth (#2 in the East) have clinched playoff spots and their seeding is set. The last playoff spot (#2 in the West) will either go to Liberty or Little Mill. That will not be determined until the final game of the season when the two teams meet on October 8th. All of the teams in the playoffs or those aiming to get there are in action this week, highlighted by Lakeside traveling to North Forsyth HS to take on Liberty. Four of the five games involve playoff teams so it will be interesting to see how those games play out.
Once again, the weather looks absolutely perfect for Tuesday evening. The temperatures will be in the 70s from the start to the finish for the games this week. The humidity will be up slightly, but there is just 5% chance of rain as the games near their conclusion. The wind should not be a factor all night.
