2025 Forsyth County Middle School Football Week 1 Recap

Persistent thunderstorms over the past two evenings forced the cancellation of all five Week 1 matchups across Forsyth County. While every game managed to get underway after brief delays, none were able to reach halftime before weather halted play.

In the FCMS-Athletics.com featured matchup, North Forsyth came out firing, building a 22-0 lead over Lakeside before the game was cut short.

Three other contests advanced into the second quarter. Liberty’s offense was already in high gear, leading Piney Grove 27-8. Riverwatch held a slim 6-0 edge over Hendricks in the game that lasted the longest, while South Forsyth and Vickery Creek remained in a scoreless deadlock.

DeSana and Otwell experienced the longest pregame delay, and their contest had only just begun when it was called off.

Four schools—DeSana at Otwell and Hendricks at Riverwatch—attempted to resume play this evening (Aug. 13), but another round of storms forced early cancellations in the afternoon.
