2025 Forsyth County Middle School Football Week 3

Divisional play is back, and every snap matters. Week 3 marks the second week of division games across Forsyth County, where the margin for error is razor thin. With only five divisional games in the West and just four in the East, each matchup can swing the playoff picture in a big way. One win can launch a team into the driver’s seat, while one loss can leave them scrambling to keep postseason hopes alive. The three-time defending East champ, Lakeside, has the week off, using the bye to reset and search for the same formula that’s powered their dominance the past three seasons.

It is still early in the season, but this game could ultimately determine the No. 1 and No. 2 seeds in the West. While Vickery Creek has emerged as the surprise team in the division and looks poised to have a say in the playoff race, the two programs meeting this week have been the standard-bearers in recent memory.

The Wildcats and Patriots have also been dominant to start the 2025 season. In Week 1, both were building big early leads before weather forced cancellations. In Week 2, each team faced a surprising halftime challenge, but responded with authority — turning close games into comfortable, multi-score wins by the final whistle.

Like last week, this rivalry runs deep as well. With students from both schools eventually feeding into North Forsyth High School, both claim Raider Valley as their home field. That shared turf only adds fuel to a matchup that often decides the West Division crown.

Other Matchups

Riverwatch will be coming off their bye date, playing their first game of the season. DeSana, meanwhile, enters Week 3 riding high after a big East Division win. Last season, Riverwatch came out of their bye with a 31-0 win over DeSana.

With dominant performances by the top 3 in the West Division, this is almost a must-win game for both teams after dropping their divisional openers last week. Last year, Little Mill won their matchup with Otwell 40-0 as a part of their dominant start to 2024.

South Forsyth will try to build on their impressive opener last week (36-6 victory over Lakeside). Piney Grove will look to avoid going 0-2 in the East Division, which would lead to a huge uphill climb to the playoffs. Last year the Eagles routed the Grizzlies 42-0.

Vickery Creek matched its 2024 win total in the opener and looks to double it in Week 3 to stay in the West Division race. Hendricks led Liberty at halftime last week before fading late. The Hawks picked up a 36-6 win over the Vipers in 2024.

Weather Forecast

For the first time this season, weather won’t steal the headlines. Fans and players can expect clear skies and a perfect football night across Forsyth County. Kickoff temperatures will sit in the upper 70s, dropping into the upper 60s by game’s end — a taste of early fall in late August. A steady west to northwest breeze at 7–9 mph will keep things comfortable. After two weeks of storm concerns, Week 3 finally brings the kind of conditions everyone has been waiting for.
