2025 Forsyth County Middle School Football Week 4 Recap

Another week of beautiful weather greeted the teams as Week 4 brought another round of divisional battles across Forsyth County. The featured matchup between North Forsyth and Vickery Creek lived up to the billing, standing out as the closest game of the week in a slate otherwise defined by decisive victories.

With another round of divisional matchups now complete, the picture in both races is becoming clearer. In a shortened schedule where the West gets just five divisional games and the East only four, every contest carries enormous weight. One victory can vault a team into prime position, while one setback can leave a program fighting to stay in the hunt.

After four weeks, just three teams remain unbeaten: South Forsyth (3-0) and DeSana (2-0) in the East — with DeSana idle on their bye week — and Vickery Creek (3-0) in the West. As the standings tighten, momentum is becoming just as important as talent in the race for the county crown.

The Vipers rattled off 20 unanswered points in the final two quarters, pulling away for a 26-12 victory that cemented their position atop the West and signaled their arrival as a true contender.

The win marked another milestone in Vickery Creek’s remarkable turnaround season. After managing just one victory in 2024, the Vipers now sit at 3-0 and have already tripled last year’s total, showing balance on both sides of the ball. North Forsyth, meanwhile, dropped to 2-1 in divisional play despite a promising first half and will need to regroup quickly ahead of the final stretch.

Next week promises to be just as pivotal, as Vickery Creek meets Liberty while North Forsyth faces Little Mill — meaning the top four teams in the West standings will go head-to-head. With so much at stake, the outcomes could go a long way in determining playoff positioning and the eventual division champion.

Little Mill continued its strong start to the season with a dominant 28-0 win over Hendricks, taking control early with an impressive 22-0 lead at halftime. The victory keeps Little Mill firmly in the division hunt at 2-1, maintaining momentum as they aim for a strong finish in the coming weeks. Meanwhile, Hendricks falls to 0-3, dealing a major blow to their playoff hopes and leaving them with very little margin for error in the remaining games.

Liberty continued its strong divisional play with a convincing 36-14 win over Otwell, taking a 17-7 lead into halftime and then extending it in the second half behind a balanced and efficient offensive attack. The victory moves Liberty to 2-1, tying them for second place in the West and keeping their playoff hopes alive heading into the next week. Otwell, meanwhile, falls to 0-3, leaving their postseason chances dwindling as they head into the final stretch of the season.

Lakeside returned from their bye week to pick up a bounce-back 36-12 win over Piney Grove, taking a 22-6 lead into halftime and controlling the game from start to finish. The victory keeps Lakeside alive in the playoff hunt, as they now face a challenging stretch where they will almost need to win out to secure a postseason spot. Piney Grove, meanwhile, falls to 0-3 and has been officially eliminated from playoff contention after a tough start to the season.

South Forsyth heads into their bye week at 3-0 after a convincing 30-6 victory over Riverwatch, taking a 22-6 lead into halftime and maintaining control throughout the second half with both a strong offense and a stingy defense. The win keeps the Eagles firmly atop the East Division, half a game ahead of DeSana, who was off during Week 4. Riverwatch falls to 0-2, having already lost to the top two teams in the East, leaving their playoff hopes in serious jeopardy.
