2025 Forsyth County Middle School Football Week 6 Recap

Week 6 offered a change of pace in Forsyth County football, as the season shifted away from division play for a set of non-division showdowns. With playoff spots already locked up for four teams, the games carried less weight in the standings but still provided a valuable tune-up opportunity before the postseason. For others, it was a chance to build momentum, measure progress, and grab a late-season win against a fresh opponent.

The playoff contenders wasted no time reminding everyone why they’re at the top. Three of the four teams (DeSana, North Forsyth, and South Forsyth) who have already secured their postseason spots were in action, and they rolled to convincing victories, outscoring their opponents by a combined 120-27 — an average margin of 40-9. The wins reinforced just how sharp the county’s elite squads are as October approaches.

These contests also marked the final action before schools head into fall break. When play resumes, only seven county teams will take the field, as four programs will benefit from what essentially amounts to a double bye. The Dragons jumped all over Little Mill early, racing out to a 36-0 halftime lead and never looking back. Over the past two years, DeSana is 4-0 in non-divisional games — a stat that could loom large with the semifinals set to pit non-divisional opponents against each other.

South Forsyth rolled to another win, showcasing the same mix of offensive firepower and defensive toughness that has carried them all season.

The Eagles moved the ball with ease, while their defense kept the pressure on from start to finish, holding their opponent to just a single touchdown. The Eagles flew to a 36-0 halftime lead and kept complete control the rest of the way. Through four games, South has outscored its opponents by a whopping 135 points, a margin that underscores just how dominant this group has been on both sides of the ball. With another lopsided victory under their belt, the Eagles continue to look every bit the part of a title contender heading into the stretch run.

In what was a theme for the night, North Forsyth was up big at the half, leading by three touchdowns before cruising to a 28-point victory.

The Wildcats leaned on a stingy defense and a steady offensive rhythm to put the game out of reach early, then closed the door with another strong second-half showing. Since their loss to Vickery, North has surrendered only six total points over their past two games, a testament to how dominant their defense has become. Quietly building momentum week after week, the Wildcats have shown the kind of discipline and balance that could make them a dangerous draw when the postseason begins.

It was no shock Liberty came out on top, but the final score turned heads as the Patriots dominated from the opening whistle to the final one.

Liberty jumped out to a 24-0 halftime lead, fueled by a balanced attack that kept their opponent off-balance all night. The Patriots’ defense was equally impressive, shutting down all attempts at a comeback. Liberty cruised to a 38-6 victory, leaving no doubt about their control. Even though the Patriots have been eliminated from the playoffs, they still have plenty to play for, carrying on a tradition of excellence that has made them one of the county’s better programs in recent memory.

Piney Grove Grizzlies (20) @

Otwell Bulldogs (28)

After not winning a game in 2024 and going through an 0-3 start to 2025, Otwell has now won two games in a row following their 28-20 victory in Week 6.

The Bulldogs led 21-14 at halftime in a tight contest that mostly stayed within a one-score margin, executing key plays on both sides of the ball when it mattered most. Otwell has been competitive in almost all of their games this season, laying the foundation to return to their glory days and build something meaningful for the future.
