The 2025 boys' track season concluded with a thrilling finish, as the South Forsyth Eagles edged out the competition to capture the championship title with 91.0 points. Lakeside came within half a point of the crown, finishing a close second with 90.5 points in one of the tightest team races in recent memory. Rounding out the podium was Liberty, whose 59.0-point performance narrowly held off Hendricks at 58.0 points to secure third place.
The Eagles dominated in the long-distance track events, building their lead through standout performances in the 400 meter, 800 meter, and 1600 meter races. In those three events alone, South Forsyth outscored Lakeside 43.0-9.0, creating the margin that ultimately secured the championship. Despite the deficit in distance events, Lakeside kept the overall standings tight by excelling in the sprints and field events, where they racked up the majority of their points to stay in striking distance until the very end.
In the field events, Lakeside led all teams with 35.0 points. Little Mill was next with 21.0, followed by North Forsyth (19.0), Liberty (14.0), and Vickery Creek (13.0) to round out the top five.
As was stated previously, South Forsyth dominated on the track, scoring at least six points in every event except the 100 meter hurdles. In fact, they reached double-digit scoring in five of the eight track events and totaled a meet-high 80.0 points on the track. Lakeside racked up 55.5 points, being held scoreless in just one event (400 meter dash). The Lions led the field in both the 100 meter hurdles (13.5 points) and 100 meter dash (10.0 points). Hendricks posted the third-highest track total with 50.0 points, including an event-leading 14.0 points in the 400 meter dash. Like the two teams ahead of them, the Hawks were only shut out in one event, the 800 meter run. Liberty added 45.0 points on the track to help lock down their podium finish, while Little Mill and Piney Grove each tallied 21.0 points, tying for the fourth-most track points overall.
On the individual side, Luke Jordan (South Forsyth) led all scorers with 22.00 points, powered by dominant victories in both the 800 meter and 1600 meter runs. His contributions on the track were crucial to South Forsyth’s narrow team title win.
Close behind was Kayden Jarrett (Lakeside), who totaled 21.25 points across multiple disciplines. Jarrett’s versatility shined with wins in the 100 meter hurdles and the long jump, making him the top dual-surface scorer in the championship.
The third-highest point total came from Brayden Bailey (Hendricks), who earned 19.75 points across an impressive five events. His performance included podium finishes in the 100 meter hurdles, 400 meter dash, and the 4x100 meter relay, highlighting both consistency and range.
Mathias Fraga (Lakeside) finished fourth overall with 19.25 points, thanks to a victory in the 100 meter dash and a runner-up finish in the 200 meter dash, solidifying Lakeside’s strength in the sprint events.
Rounding out the top five was Mason Freeman (Liberty) with 18.50 points. Freeman played a key role in Liberty’s podium finish, earning an individual title in the 200 meter dash and anchoring his team to victory in the 4x100 meter relay.
