The 2025 middle school golf season in Forsyth County was packed with remarkable performances, dramatic finishes, and rising stars who consistently delivered on the course. After evaluating scoring averages, individual accomplishments, and performances in key events, FCMS-Athletics.com is proud to announce this year’s All-County First Team, headlined by Golfer of the Year Howar Li and five other standout players who made a lasting impact during the season.
Howar Li ultimately claims the title of FCMS-Athletics.Com’s Golfer of the Year, thanks to a balanced blend of consistency and clutch play. Representing the County Championship-winning team, Li posted an overall scoring average of +3.3 (2nd lowest) across seven events and captured victories in both the County Invitational and the County Championship—the season’s most prestigious tournaments. Howar also recorded two even-par rounds, one against King’s Ridge at River Pines Golf Club’s par-3 course and another during his championship-winning performance.

Eshaan Gudipati made a compelling case of his own, finishing the season with a lower scoring average of +2.4 over seven events—the best in the county. As the top player for DeSana, he anchored his team throughout the spring and was a model of consistency. During the regular season, Eshaan delivered back-to-back under-par rounds at his team's home course, Iron Horse Golf Club—firing a -2 (34) on March 13 and a -1 (35) on March 20. He was the low individual in four of five matchups and tied for fourth place in both the County Invitational and County Championship.
While Gudipati edged Li in scoring average, Li’s tournament victories and key performances in high-stakes events solidified his selection as the 2025 FCMS-Athletics.Com’s Golfer of the Year.
Rounding out the 2025 FCMS-Athletics.Com All-County First Team are Kate Ahn (Riverwatch), Tate Hull (Lakeside), Smyan Reddy (Riverwatch), and Karsten Vernon (Hendricks)—each of whom delivered standout performances throughout the season.
Kate Ahn was not only the top female golfer in the county but also one of the most consistent players overall, finishing with the fifth-lowest scoring average among all competitors at +4.9—four strokes better than the next-best girl. Ahn’s name was a fixture atop leaderboards, as she regularly challenged for individual titles. She dominated the Girls’ Division, capturing both the County Invitational (by five shots) and the County Championship (by four).
Tate Hull, a key contributor to Lakeside’s County Championship-winning team, turned in an impressive scoring average of +3.6 over the season. His consistency was a major asset—Hull finished either first or second among his team in all five of Lakeside’s regular-season matchups, helping secure multiple team victories. His standout moment came in the County Invitational, where he finished as the individual runner-up.
Smyan Reddy consistently delivered for his team and saved his best golf for the county’s biggest stages-the County Invitational (+5, tied for 2nd) and County Championship (+3, tied for 4th). Riverwatch's top golfer led his team in scoring in five out of seven regular season matchups.
Karsten Vernon was the clear leader for Hendricks this season, posting a scoring average of +5.0—just outside the top five in the county rankings. He led his team in scoring in every event, providing consistent production week after week. His season highlight came at the County Championship, where he sank a clutch putt on the 9th green in a playoff at Polo Golf & Country Club to secure an impressive 2nd-place individual finish.

The following averages are derived from individual scores recorded throughout the 2025 golf season. A total of 88 players competed in two nine-hole tournaments and 26 matches held during March and April. Seven matches were shortened due to darkness or lightning, and five matches took place on par-3 courses. These factors influenced the statistics—for example, shortened events resulted in players completing different holes and, therefore, playing to a different par, while scores on par-3 courses tended to be lower than those on regulation courses, especially with the triple bogey maximum in effect. As a result, the figures are not perfectly precise. However, efforts were made to achieve the highest possible accuracy by categorizing scores according to nine-hole rounds completed, rounds partially completed, and rounds played on par-3 courses.
